Citizenship
- An individual may apply for citizenship when they meet all the requirements to become a U.S. Citizen. In most cases, a lawful permanent resident is eligible if they have been a resident for at least 5 years. A lawful permanent resident who obtained status through marriage to a U.S. Citizen is eligible within three years of obtaining status if they have continued to live and be married to the U.S. Citizen in good faith.
